I am an award-winning freelance and editorial photographer with more than 25 years of experience covering life across Middlesbrough, Darlington, Sunderland, County Durham, and Leeds. My freelance career began in Scotland in the 1990s before I established myself in the North East, regularly traveling across the UK for assignments, from Glasgow to London.

As an experienced editorial photographer based in North East England, I have built a reputation for delivering high-impact imagery with depth and authenticity. Over the years, I have accumulated hundreds of press passes, gaining privileged access to some of the UK’s most secure and prestigious events—including royal visits, major sporting fixtures, cultural art festivals, and music venues.
Royal engagements are among the most secure and logistically demanding assignments in editorial photography. I have covered more than 20 such visits across Teesside, Edinburgh, Dumfries and Galloway, and London. One standout assignment involved photographing Catherine, Princess of Wales, during a visit to the North East. Alongside public moments with dignitaries, I was granted rare behind-the-scenes access documenting images of the Princess engaging privately with service users—a moment of genuine privilege and trust.
